Senior Bookkeeper

About the position:
This Accounting position is responsible for a number of departmental functions, including: oversight of day-to-day bookkeeping, record necessary journal entries, produce internal management reports, maintenance of adequate system of accounting records, and the application of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets for multiple entities.
- Manage a list of clients and projects
- Maintenance of bookkeeping records and posting corrections as necessary
- Implementation of automation features
- Recording necessary journal entries at closing periods
- Oversee and analyze month-end closing processes
- Reconcile month-end financial statements, trial balance and general ledger
- Responsible for issuing monthly internal financials for multiple entities
- Transition accounting systems from other platforms to QB Online
- Setup new books
- Chart of Accounts
- Opening Balance Journal Entries
- Setup classes, divisions and projects
- Setup payroll structure and provide ongoing support
- Implement and monitor client accounting workflow processes
- Communicate with client representatives and in-house personnel
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines
- 3-5 years of Public Accounting / Bookkeeping Firm Experience or 5+ years of Private Industry/Company Experience
- Experience should include:
- Assistant Controllership
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Inventory accounting
- Payroll
- Reconciliation of bank and General Ledger accounts
- Experience with financial reporting - review, analysis, and ensuring accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or Associates Certificate minimum
- Understanding of accounting cycles and periodic closing procedures
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of double entry accounting principles
- Must have QuickBooks Online experience
- QBO Certification required
- Advanced QBO Certification preferred
- Demonstration of QBO knowledge will be required
- Tech savvy
- Experience with various add-on accounting applications for QBO
- General knowledge and ability to use computer systems
- Able to work with and assist clients in "remote desktop connection" scenarios
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
